SUMMIT BEGINS SEARCH FOR NEW MOON DIRECTOR
Los Angeles, CA, December 7, 2008 — Summit Entertainment and director Catherine Hardwicke jointly announced today that the filmmaker will not be directing the next installment in the newly minted TWILIGHT film franchise. Summit’s targeted end of 2009 or early 2010 release of the film, NEW MOON, does not work with Ms. Hardwicke’s required prep time to bring her vision of the film to the big screen. Thus as has been done before with many successful film franchises, the studio will employ a new director for NEW MOON.
“I am sorry that due to timing I will not have the opportunity to direct NEW MOON,” said Hardwicke. “Directing TWILIGHT has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film. I wish everyone at Summit the best with the sequel—it is a great story.”
“Catherine did an incredible job in helping us to launch the TWILIGHT franchise and we thank her for all of her efforts and we very much hope to work with her on future Summit projects,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production. “We as a studio have a mandate to bring the next installment in the franchise to the big screen in a timely fashion so that fans can get more of Edward, Bella and all of the characters that Stephenie Meyer has created. We are able to pursue an aggressive time frame as we have the luxury of only adapting the novels into screenplays as opposed to having to create a storyline from scratch.”

Hari Sabtu kemarin gw dapet kesempatan untuk nonton Premiere Twilight di PS jam 9 pagi. Seneng banget krn dapet tiket ini dari orang yang gw ga pernah duga, yaitu Vero, my long lost friend. Thanks ya ver!
Ok, about the movie itself (based on my opinion..) menurut gw ga begitu fantastis. Banyak banget cerita-cerita yang ada dibuku ga diangkat ke film, plus cerita yang ga ada di buku malah tiba2 ada di film (which is not on my expectation, dan sedikit membingungkan).
Selain itu, ada perubahan-perubahan gambaran cerita yang ada di buku dengan film. Contohnya pada saat Bella berhubungan dengan nyokapnya, di buku disebutin klo Bella mengabari lewat email, tp di film malah jadi sering telponan. Kemudian di buku, Bella memiliki PC tapi di film dia punya laptop; trus di cerita seperti bagaimana Edward dan Bella bertemu di Port Angeles ga sesuai dengan yang ada di buku, especially ketika Edward menolong Bella, bener-bener beda banget. Gambaran rumah Bella dan Edward juga kurang pas antara di buku dan film.. Oya satu lg yang penting, di buku kan dibahas klo Bella mengalami 2x malam Promnite kan (yang pertama dia menolak untuk dateng), tp malah cuma satu kali aja di film, hiks :’(
But it’s alright, the bottom line is Edward dan Bella were together. Sayangnya Chemistry mereka berdua ga begitu kuat, bahkan terkesan dingin dan aneh..
Kemudian untuk karakter para pemainnya, menurut gw pribadi ada yang COCOK banget (Edward, Alice, Jesper, Emmet, Carlisle, Jacob, Billie, Victoria, Jessica, Mike) , tapi ada juga yang ‘wow, ni orang ga ada cocoknya sama sekali’ untuk karakter yang dia bawa (Bella, Rosalie, Esme, Angela, Eric, Bella’s Mom, Laurent *yg harusnya bule malah negro*, James). Pas ditonton jadinya ga nyambung dan ga pas..
Terus ada yg lucu.. sang penulis, Mrs. Stephenie Meyer jadi cameo di Twilight selama kurang lebih 5 detik, di scene pas Bella baru ngobrol dengan Mike Newton dan dia mau masuk ke sebuah resto untuk makan bareng Charlie, ayahnya.. Clue: Mrs. Stephenie yang lg duduk di meja bar dan bermain dengan laptop Apple-nya.. hahaha.. that was pretty shocking for me.. :p
Yah untuk first start it’s OK, mudah2an di sekuelnya (yang katanya sih mulai shooting Maret 2009, info dari http://acting411.blogspot.com/2008/11/new-moon-auditions.html) bisa lebih OKE lg.. karena di buku kedua uda semakin dalem tuh chemistry Edward dan Bella, plus so many fantasy (seperti perubahan Jacob jadi Werewolf dan pertemuan dengan Keluarga Besar Vampire yaitu Volturi di Italy yg bikin merinding gila!).
Good job for Hardwicke for now and ahead!

I have read some of Twilight Saga, and darn, i fall in love with the story. There are 4 books in the Saga:
1. Twilight
2. New Moon
3. Eclipse
4. Breaking Dawn
There should be the 5th book called Midnight Sun (on Edward’s perspective), but it will not end in a publishing company. Knowing the fact that the story has been released to the mass, since it wasn’t the writer fault. The writer felt dissapointed, she wanted the story to be all perfect (and kept it as a secret to the fans until is being released). But the GOOD NEWS is, she allowed fans to download the story draft on her official page (love you for doing that Stephenie Meyer). In the end, all we know is Bella and Edward are meant for each other, no matter what. *feels gloomy ehh?*
